These 16 oz clear swing top glass bottles are PERFECT for second fermentation kombucha.  Each bottle is glass, meaning you don’t have to worry about your kombucha reacting with metal or leaching chemicals out of a plastic container.  The clear glass allows you to admire the beauty of your second fermentation kombucha bottles.  You can also clearly see carbonation building, which can make for easier and more effective “burping” of highly carbonated kombucha bottles.

The flip-top caps (also known as swing top or grolsch style) keep all carbonation secured within the bottle while your kombucha ferments your chosen second fermentation ingredients.  These bottles are truly airtight– no carbonation will be escaping and no extra oxygen will be sneaking in to get in the way of your kombucha’s second fermentation glory!

This item includes 12 individual 16 ounce bottles, making them perfect for brewing kombucha by the gallon for up to two gallons at a time.  Each gallon of kombucha gives you enough kombucha to fill six of these bottles for your second fermentation, set two cups of starter tea aside for the next batch, and maybe have a little extra to drink while you bottle your second fermentation kombucha!

We do generally recommend amber bottles as they block more light (which can be harmful to the SCOBY matter in your bottles).  However, these bottles can work just fine if you’d prefer to see your second fermentation kombucha through the glass.  Just make sure you store your bottles in a dark space while fermenting!  We recommend storing in an empty room temperature cooler.
