Flip-Top Cap Assembly

Having trouble assembling your bottle caps? Don’t sweat it! These caps are manufactured for our bottles by the same company. The caps are extremely tight, which is what makes them airtight in high-pressure situations such as fermentation. This is necessary for a high-quality fermentation bottle and to avoid potential explosions. Don’t worry about the stiff closure– it will get easier to close over time as the caps are broken in, similar to a new pair of shoes!

Refer to the instructions and images below to get your caps on your flip-top bottles:

Approach the bottle from the left, with the flip-top positioned as pictured in the first image. Place metal inserts into both holes in glass bottle as pictured. This will get you to the 3rd image. Now, lift the bottle cap up to the opening in the glass bottle, while pressing down on the “half-loop” piece in the middle. (completed image 4). Then press the “half-loop” piece down (image 5) until it snaps into place against the bottle (image 6). It will be stiff–this is what keeps the bottle airtight and holds carbonation in.
